"There two pieces from the Whitney collection reminded me of each other, and I tried to combine the bright colors of both works with the almost collage type of look in the Janiva Ellis piece(Even though it's a painting) with the plants that frame the Shara Hughes one. I ended up making a collage and it's not super close but hopefully the inspiration if somewhat clear." -Talia Katreczko
