"I was inspired by Salvador Dali's piece "The Persistence of Memory",I used pencil and acrylic paint to create my own take on the painting. Dali is one of my favorite artists, I love how he incorporates both detailed surrealism and a deeper ironic meaning into his work, and the idea of time as it slips form our hands, the greatest illusion of all. I added a beach umbrella to symbolize the concept of family time as it is in abundance now, an ironic result of unexpected wealth of time, bringing the viewer back to Dali's recurrent theme." -Mai Listokin
